Compensation, Benefits and Advancement

Cox Smith lawyers receive competitive salaries and benefits. The firm's Management Advisory Committee carefully considers each lawyer's total contribution and recognizes team effort as well as individual achievement.  Annual bonus considerations are based on each lawyer's actual accomplishments rather than adherence to outdated standards or lock-step systems.  We believe this progressive policy assures fairly distributed rewards to all those who work at Cox Smith.

Cox Smith offers a competitive benefits package that includes, among other benefits, a 401(k) contribution of no less than 3%, payment of group life and disability insurance premiums, group major medical coverage, Section 125 Cafeteria Plan allowing payment of certain expenses on a pre-tax basis, downtown paid parking and payment of bar association dues, professional meetings, and expenses related to Continued Legal Education (CLE) courses.

The firm formally reviews each lawyer's progress twice a year and adjusts salaries annually.  Lawyers are given the opportunity to evaluate themselves and to also receive input regarding their performance from every supervising lawyer for whom they have worked in the past year.
