Cox Smith Employment and Employer Rights Workshop

Harassment and Retaliation Workshop

Emboldened by its additional funding, the EEOC has increased its hiring and stepped up its efforts in investigating Charges and initiating litigation against employers. Among the issues that are the frequent subject of Charges and draw the attention of EEOC investigators and Regional Attorneys are claims of harassment and retaliation. This workshop will provide a summary of recent cases that interpret the various claims of harassment and the statutory definitions of retaliation in the workplace. An interactive discussion of employer best practices will take place to provide employers with innovative guidelines for reducing the risk of harassment and retaliation claims and creating jury-friendly scenarios when employees complain of harassment or otherwise engage in protected activity.
