Ellen Mitchell is board certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and counsels clients in appellate litigation and trial support. She has more than two decades of experience in appellate litigation, supplying immediate and ongoing support to clients related to complicated appellate issues. Prior to entering private practice, Ellen served as the Chief Staff Attorney at the Fourth Court of Appeals, assisting the appellate justices and training staff and briefing attorneys. Ellen has built upon that experience by serving as appellate and trial-support counsel in a number of matters that have generated landmark decisions redefining Texas and federal law. One of the highlights of her work was performing substantial legal analysis and briefing, and serving as Second Chair in an appeal briefed and argued to the United States Supreme Court.
