Cox Smith provides the following benefits to its associates:
- Paid comprehensive health insurance with nominal monthly premium. In conjunction with our medical plan coverage, the Firm also sponsors a comprehensive prescription drug program with nominal co-payments for generic and brand-name prescriptions.
- Each associate is provided with Term-Life Insurance, with benefits double that of their annual salary. Additional Term-Life Insurance can be obtained.
- Cox Smith provides Long-Term Disability Insurance for all associates.
- The Firm's Section 125 Cafeteria Plan allows associates to pay for certain expenses on a pre-tax basis, including medical premiums for employees, dependant care reimbursements and some medical expenses not covered by our health insurance plan.
- Upon enrollment in the Firm's 401(k) Plan, up to 60% of each associate’s gross salary (not to exceed the annual maximum) can be saved prior to withholding tax calculation. The Firm's contribution is based upon a percentage of the associate's annual compensation, but is no less than 3%.
- Associates are entitled to, and encouraged to take, two weeks of vacation in each calendar year. In addition, the Firm typically provides associates with nine holidays each year.
- Parking is provided for each associate in the building garage.
- Cox Smith reimburses first-year associates up to $2,000 for expenses associated with Bar Review courses. The Firm also pays for these examination fees, as well ongoing dues and association fees.
- The Firm reimburses associates for all local and state Bar Association fees, professional meetings and expenses related to Continued Legal Education (CLE) courses.
