 Each summer, Cox Smith invites second-year law students to participate in our Firm's Summer Associate Program. Most of the new attorneys we hire emerge from this Summer Associate Program.
In an effort to accommodate the schedules of all students, we divide the summer into two six-week sessions. During the six weeks at the Firm, each Summer Associate works directly with our attorneys on a variety of assignments and rotates through their preferred departments for two to three weeks. Depending upon the practice areas in which they are working, Summer Associates participate with our attorneys in depositions, client conferences, negotiation sessions, closings and court appearances. Each Summer Associate also is assigned a mentor to provide guidance for experiencing every professional aspect of Cox Smith.
In addition to receiving quality work assignments, Cox Smith believes that it is equally important for every Summer Associate to get to know our lawyers on a personal basis and to experience the quality of life for which San Antonio is known. Our summer program schedule, therefore, includes a wide variety of social and cultural activities. These activities acquaint our Summer Associates with both our Firm and the city and are designed to give each Associate a true picture of life at Cox Smith.
